White Center Parade celebrated local culture, Seahawks and fun
Sun, 07/23/2017
The White Center Jubilee Days parade on July 23 saw horses, and horsepower, drill teams and sports teams, and a lot of color as it travelled from 112th Street SW along 16th SW north into the community. The parade route was packed with fans as it made its way. The Grand Marshall this year was Karl Sutter and this year for the first time the unofficial Mayor of White Center Geoff "Mac" McElroy was there waving to the crowd with the Key to the City on his back. The parade this year saw a large contingent from Wheels of Boom which consists of specially decorated cars and trucks all in Seahawks theme. The group is approved and sanctioned by the Seattle Seahawks, and they go out to perform acts of charity around the region. The Jolly Roger Motorcycle club was part of the show with more than a dozen motorized vehicles including trikes rolling through.
