On November 13, 2017 our beloved mom, Valentina Violet Rojnovsky, Luke, Bostick soared in her true, real fashion, leaving high winds blowing and a message for her two daughters, Sherry Luke & Marcia Schnaubelt with the most majestic of owls, the Great Horned Owl.
Mom was the daughter of Eugene & Dorothy Rojnovsky and had one sibling, Boris. Mom loved Washington State and began her journey of life in the Highline District very close to where her life journey came to an end.
Valentina met George R. Luke shortly after the bombing of Pearl Harbor in the spring of 1942 and they were married on September 9, 1944. Their family began with the birth of their first daughter, Sherry on September 15, 1947, then their son Ronald born October 17, 1951, and Marcia born March 31, 1955. Mom & Dad were married 25 years.
On May 12, 1984 mom married Wallace E. Bostick. They spent 29 years enjoying the things they loved together, the ocean, the arts, music, the ballet, plays, Husky football games, and traveling, until Wally’s passing in 2013.
Mom loved life and she dearly loved the ocean. Many thanks to all who helped in taking care of our mom so that she could enjoy life to the very last moment. She was loved by many and will be cherished in our hearts forever.
Mom’s ashes will be joined with her husband’s Wallace E. Bostick at Tahoma National Cemetery on May 11, 2018 at 10:45 a.m.
There will be a Celebration of Life at Wesley Homes-Terrace in Des Moines on May 12, 2018 at 2:00 p.m. All are welcome to come and share in remembering our mom and bid her farewell. Light Refreshments will be served.
