ATLANTA – Coming off the finest season of her career, Seattle Pacific senior guard Jordan McPhee has been voted to the NCAA Division II Coaches’ All-America team by members of the Women’s Basketball Coaches Association. She is a graduate of Mt. Rainier High in the Highline District.
McPhee become the 11th Falcon to be named a WBCA All-American, all of them on the honorable mention list. In the 43-year history of the Seattle Pacific program, 13 players have earned All-American honors from various organizations.
“We have a really strong region, and I’m just honored that Jordan got recognized,” head coach Julie Heisey said. “There are a lot of players to be considered, so it’s very hard to get recognized. To get honorable mention is a big thing for her and for our program. She gave to us on both ends of the court – defensively, rebounding and scoring. She had a great season.”
Last week, McPhee was named an Academic All-America pick by the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA). Along with basketball numbers of 13.7 points and 5.6 rebounds per game, she carries a near-perfect 3.98 grade-point average as a business administration major.
“I just feel honored to get the award,” McPhee said. “I know so many people before me have gotten it. It’s a nice award to receive.”
The 5-foot-10 McPhee was a big reason the Falcons went 23-8 this season, their first 20-win record since 2014-15. They advanced to the Great Northwest Athletic Conference Tournament championship game for the first time ever, and qualified for the NCAA West Regionals for the first time since 2015.
McPhee’s 13.7 per-game average was a career high. Of her single-season best 425 points, 135 of those came at the free throw line. That was a single-season program record.
McPhee scored her 1,000th career point on Feb. 8 when Simon Fraser came to Brougham Pavilion. That made her the 23rd player in Seattle Pacific history to reach that milestone. Her final total of 1,120 points put McPhee 18th on SPU’s all-time scoring list.
