Fay L. Burgett Chaplin passed away at the age of 102 at her home in Des Moines, WA, on March 3, 2018, after a brief time in hospice. She was born May 27, 1915, in Sioux City, IA, to Milbray Parker Burgett and Eva Anna Myers Burgett, the sixth of 10 children. In 1942, she married Glen Chaplin, and they celebrated 59 years together before his death in 2001. She was also preceded in death by her parents, all her siblings, and several nieces and nephews.

Fay was a devoted wife and mother and was active in the community and in her church. She had a passion for singing, a spirit of adventure, and a love for travel and for helping those in need.

She is survived by her daughter, Jeanette Chaplin, of Des Moines, WA; son, Keith Chaplin, of Apache Junction, AZ; four grandchildren, five great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.

Her life was celebrated at a small, private ceremony and her ashes will be laid to rest in Sioux City, IA, with her late husband, Glen.
