As the tents and stage get set up in the West Seattle Junction for the 36th Annual West Seattle Summerfest, set for July 13-15 the streets get closed and the fun starts early.
First up will be the famous Bubbleman (aka Gary Golightly) to the delight of many kids at 6:30pm
Lora Swift, Executive Director for the West Seattle Junction Association said, "We have more programming for that evening, including artists creating chalk art on the streets. Plus, we’ll be starting the community mural project that evening with Stacey Sterling. The mural will have a sea theme, neighbors are welcome to stop by to add their creative touch to the mural. We’ll continue the project through Summer Fest by the games area. It’ll be hung at the walk thru between California Ave and 44th parking lot.
West 5 will have the Yadda Yadda Blues Band who’ll be helping them celebrate their 15 year anniversary.
The restaurants will be setting up their outdoor cafes that evening while we build the festival.
They are also on the hunt for buskers, solo or duo musicians to play acoustic music on the street. The busker call-out is below, plus here’s the link for buskers to register (they receive priority over buskers who show up): https://wsjunction.wufoo.com/forms/znbbum709lcoi7

The organizers at Summer Fest invite you to join one of Seattle’s most vibrant street parties of the year. Buskers of many types perform at Art Walk and Summer Fest each year. We welcome performances with instruments and tools ranging from acoustic instruments, performance art, odd instruments, puppets, bubbles to magicians. Buskers enrich the already busy streets at the festival by adding to the overall festive feeling.
During Art Walk (July 12th) you may set up on the street between SW Oregon and Edmunds between the hours of 6pm to 9pm for 120 minutes at a time. You may place a tip jar on the street. There is no information booth manager at Art Walk.
There are six locations at Summer Fest (July 13th-15th) where performers can entertain the crowds for 90 minutes at a time.
Due to the crowds, amplified music is not permitted. All Summer Fest performers are required to wear a performer's name tag and log into the official busker book.
You may place a tip jar on the street. To perform at Summer Fest, visit the information booth manager who is located at the info booth. You’ll find the info booth at the cross section of the “All Walk” at California Ave and SW Alaska St.
Busker spots are awarded priority by completing the official Summer Fest Busker Form. All other busker spots are awarded on a first-come, first-serve basis.
