KENT - Inability to ignite a charge led to a devastating 69 - 54 Seattle Christian boys basketball loss to Cedar Christian (Bothell) in a feature at the 2018 ShoWare Shootout presented by the U.S. Army on Sat.; Dec. 22.
“There just wasn’t any energy,” said Warrior head coach Micheal Watts.
The Warriors were competitive early, despite allowing numerous easy shots, and trailed only 14 - 10 after one quarter.
The Eagles blew away to leads of 11 points three times in the second quarter, but Jaxsyn Rivera’s three-point play kept Seattle within striking range at 29 - 21 at the halftime intermission.
As the game grew tougher for SC, a go-to-leader was conspicuously absent.
CPC continued creating close-in shots while also adding deadly three-point goals to its repertoire and shot a shade above 73 per cent from the field in the second half en route to a game field goal shooting percentage of 62.2 per cent.
Conversely, the Warriors regularly missed close - in shots (26 lay ins for the game) to let the game fall down the drain.
CPC earned a 21 -point margin twice in the fourth quarter before sailing to victory.
For Cedar Park Christian, Luke Allen torched a trio of three/ balls on the way to 16 points. Matthew Attalah added 13 points and 10 rebounds while Trenton Lynch poured home 13 points.
Connor Knack notched 12 Warrior points and six boards. AJ Vanderley scored 11 points.
