Four area teams fought off school closures to get in basketball playoffs Wednesday and three of them prevailed.
The Seattle Christian girls journeyed all the way to Port Townsend and won, 61-34, while the Mount Rainier boys went to Mount Tahoma in Tacoma to play Kentridge and won, 59-58.
Both Kennedy Catholic teams played at Auburn Mountainview.
The girls took a season-ending 40-35 loss to Olympia in the first game, but the boys won the second over South Kitsap, 66-50, to stay alive.
JFK meets Puyallup for 6 p.m. action at Mount Tahoma on Thursday and Mount Rainier plays Curtis at 6 p.m. Friday at Stadium.
The Seattle Christian girls visit Cascade Christian at 5 p.m. Thursday.
Other tournaments are also set to resume.
Foster hosts Renton at 7 p.m. Thursday as Ballard entertains Bainbridge in girls action.
The West Seattle boys are at Roosevelt at the same time.
The West Seattle girls play an opponent to be determined at 4 p.m. Friday at Chief Sealth and the Foster boys go to Bonney Lake to play an undetermined foe at 6 p.m. Friday.
