A feature of the West Seattle Summerfest for the last 8 years or so the Green Life Expo, has chosen not to be part of that event for 2019 and instead will move to Delridge Day.
Speaking on behalf of the event Stu Hennesey said, "For 2019 and beyond the Green Life Expo will be held in conjunction with Delridge Day. Delridge Day offers a better opportunity to reach out, engage and inform our community about the alternatives and actions offered by our local non-profits and community groups.
We should all appreciate the community values and goals of Delridge Day as they align with our own goals.
Delridge Day is a one day event taking place this year on August 10th from 11 am to 3 pm.
Sustainable West Seattle will be offering some interesting aspects to the event. Representing our various projects is our main focus but to add some fun we will be offering E Bike tours along our neighborhood Greenways to Puget Ridge Edible Park and the Virtual Salish Sea experience with Diver Laura James will be presented at our SWS booth. The rest of the exhibit will be what you can provide and share with your community. The day fee for exhibiting is $25 for non-profits and $35 for to rent a tent.
We are very excited to work with Delridge Day as it has proven to be a more community oriented event. To suggest some themes for your exhibits think of zero waste consuming, local activism, participating in the Green New Deal or sustainability games for kids and families.
If you wish to participate please contact Pete Spalding to reserve your spot. The deadline is July 26th, 2019."
