West Seattle has had a roller coaster ride so far at the age 8-10 Little League baseball all-star tournament in Gig Harbor.
The Westsiders opened on a down swing, taking a 12-2 loss to District 1 champion Pacific of Edmonds on Sunday.
But the District 7 champion West Seattle team hit a high Monday, working for a 9-5 victory over District 4 champion Fort Vancouver.
West Seattle goes back over the Narrows Bridge for its next game at 6 p.m. Wednesday.
The Westsiders will play the winner of Tuesday's 3 p.m. game between District 10 Federal Way National and District 2 Gig Harbor American.
The tournament runs through Sunday, but West Seattle must win every game, including two championship wins, to take the state title.
