On Thursday, September 26, 2019, Burrita Gongwer Perry, wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, passed away peacefully at home from complications of Alzheimer’s, with her beloved husband, Dr. Robert L. Perry, at her side.
Born on March 21, 1930 in Port Angeles, Burrita was a very positive person with an incredible zest for life. She was secure in her belief in Christ her Lord and had a servant’s heart. She enjoyed golfing, gardening, traveling, cooking, skiing, hiking and many other activities. An avid golfer, Burrita was a member of Rainier Golf Club for over 20 years. As a Master Gardener, she helped others with their gardens. She also served as a child advocate in the court system and was a hospice volunteer. Burrita and Bob, moved to Lake Burien in 1960, where they raised their 5 children and created a lifetime of memories.
Burrita will be lovingly remembered by her husband of 67 years and her five children & their spouses, Laura Perry & Frank Cervenka (Seattle), Jody Menenberg (Bellevue), Robin Hale (Burien), Scott & Kathy Perry (Redmond) and Susan Paulson (S. Lake Tahoe) as well as her 16 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren.
