West Seattle swept its way to titles in all three District 7 Little League baseball all-star tournaments that were played this month, never even taking a loss.
State tournaments now await all three teams and one -- the age 10-12 Majors -- are also dreaming of going on to the Western Regional and World Series tournaments.
The Majors started down that road by going undefeated in the District 7 tournament, ending with an 11-6 victory over South Highline National on Thursday, July 1 at the Bar S complex in West Seattle.
The age 11 team had the toughest row to how, battling Renton for nine innings before rallying to win, 20-11.
The two teams were knotted at 8-8 after the regulation six innings of play and both teams scored three in the eighth inning to keep the game alive.
But West Seattle was not to be denied, tallying nine runs in the top of the ninth and hanging on to win handily at Bar S this past Tuesday.
The Westsiders got the same victorious results playing at PacWest in Burien two days later.
The Minors age 8-10 team routed Renton, 15-0, in a game stopped after three innings.
Majors State tournament action opens at 1:30 p.m. this Saturday at Hartman Park in Redmond for West Seattle.
The Westsiders will be pitted against the District 8 champions
Both the age 11 and Minors tournaments open Saturday, July 24.
The age 11 squad plays at the Northshore Athletic Fields in Woodinville and the Minors journey to Fort Borst Park in Centralia.
Minors action starts at 10 a.m. against District 12 and the 11s play District 3 at 11 a.m.
