West Seattle finished fourth in the state Class 3A baseball ranks with the Saturday afternoon loss at Gesa Stadium in Pasco.
Players for the Wildcats this year were Cooper Hubbard, Nick Hazelgrove, Jaxton Helmstettler, Caden Fahy, Maddox Brent, TJ Buehring, Bobby Triggs, Miles Gosztola, Jake Lockwood, Matthew Henning, Felix Schlede, Owen Earls, Westin Webb, Sabin Tomlinson, Miles Chandler, Blaine Buchanan and Ryan Whitney.

The Wildcats' state championship dreams were dashed by Friday's loss to the Islanders in the semifinals.

Ballard's stay at the Class 3A state tournament ended with Friday evening's loss at the Regional Athletic Complex in Lacey.

Bonney Lake beat the Beavers to open state play Friday afternoon.
Players for this year's state team from Ballard were Liz Bell, AJ Pearson, Wren Norris, Virginia Vanderzee, Olivia Henderson, Maya Krisman, Trinity Miller, Peyton Nakagawara, Madie Guthrie, Mara Scanlan, Bella Klinner, Molly Baker, A dry Wynkoop, Payton Habel, Elsa Rediger, Bea Nelson-Talbot, Colette Howren, Ruth Tinker, Monse Eckert-Mariscal and Signe Rediger.

State
Anika Schau of Kennedy Catholic finished in a two-way tie for 35th place in the Class 4A girls state tournament.
Schau shot two rounds of 87 for a total of 174 in the action held at the Hawks Prairie course in Lacey.
Three area boys players barely missed their cuts to not make it past the first round at state.
Rocky Eltzkom of Kennedy Catholic turned in an 86 in the 4A tournament at Indian Summer in Olympia ahead of the 87 score of Mount Rainier's Andy Perovich.
Seattle Christian's Brayden Vreugdenhil shot an 88 in the 1A boys tournament played at Indian Canyon in Spokane and the cut was 87.
The state golf tournaments took place this past Tuesday and Wednesday.
