Jade Harms of Highline High School came on strong on the second day of state Class 2A girls golf competition to finish in a tie for 19th place.

Harms shot a round of 94 the first day of play Tuesday to barely make the cut of 96 to go on to the second day.

Harms more than took advantage of the opportunity, lowering her score to 85 to give her a two day total of 179.

Harms was playing on the Meadowbrook course in Liberty Lake near Spokane.

Teammate Leilah Henry Cano missed the cut the first day with a score of 105.

Lynna Hoang of the Pirates was withdrawn from the first day of competition.

Gus Schaefer of Highline shot a 106 at the nearby Liberty Lake course to miss the second day.

Kira Vreugdenhill of Seattle Christian tied for 24th the first day of 1A girls play but her score of 110 missed the cut of 108.

She was playing at Riverside in Chehalis.

West Seattle's Simon Vance had an 83 to miss the cut in 3A boys action at Indian Summer in Olympia.

Teammate Harmony Pham turned in a 96 to miss the cut in the 3A girls at The Woodlands Hawks Prairie course in Lacey.

Anika Shaw of Kennedy Catholic shot 94 to miss the second day of 4A girls action at Spokane's Indian Canyon.
