Oscar A. Nelson

Oscar A. Nelson, age 71, passed away on 23 May 2006, after a short illness. He was born in Craig, Alaska into the Raven clan of the Tlinget tribe, of which he was very proud. After eight years in the US Navy, serving on the USS Boxer and USS Hancock, Oscar spent the majority of his life in Seattle. He was a member, and served as an officer, in VFW Post 2713. A brother, sister, many nieces and a nephew survive him. Interment will be at Tahoma National Cemetery on 29 June at 11 a.m. Please sign our guest book at www.Howden-Kennedy.com.

Robert Andrew Pedersen (Bob/Pete)

Born 1918 in Bremerton, Bob passed away on June 9th. He was an early-day skier and climber, graduate of the UW, and WWII naval officer. Engineer and manager at the Washington State Surveying and Rating Bureau, Bob was involved with many fire protection engineering organizations.

Bob and his wife raised three children. Active with the boy scouts, Bob taught many kids about mountain travel. Bob skied and hiked until his mid 80's and was often in Lincoln Park until recently.

The family will have a picnic in Lincoln Park, September 2.

Muriel Anna Stivers

Muriel Stivers was bon on Septembers 29, 1928 in Hoonah, Alaska and passed away on June 15, 2006 in Seattle, Washington. She is survived by her eleven children and numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her husband Jefferson Myron Stivers, son Robert William Stivers and daughter Cecelia Marjorie Stivers. A graveside service will be at 2 p.m. on June 24th, 2006 at Forest Lawn Cemetery, Seattle, Washington. In lieu of flowers please send donations to the American Heart Association.
