Burien killing annexation

So, Burien is attempting to kill the annexation agreement with Seattle and King County AGAIN. Last year, all the parties were called to Olympia to work out a compromise that would properly fund both cities to annex part of North Highline. Everyone showed up; legislative leaders, King County, Seattle, all ready to find common ground. Burien showed up at the meeting without the authority to make decisions.

No representation

At the Nov 6 "Public Workshop" for the proposed development of California Place Park, the **NO CHANGE TO PARK** campaign out numbered the playground supporters 2-1 and presented the City a petition with 443 signatures for NO CHANGE. With these numbers Parks Dept. facilitator Mickey Fearn was asked to stop this project. He stated that "This (meeting) may not be the true representation of the community" Thus the continuation of the "process" and 3 more meetings. Looking for the "true representation of the Admiral community"? If this is the case then why did the Parks Dept.

Keep kids at Cooper

I am the parent of a second grader in the autism program at Cooper. I attended the January meeting at cooper with many of the board members there and felt that sufficient cons about the discontinuing of the cooper program were discussed and it seems that finding another alternative is the right thing to do. I would like to make it clear that after my child has moved 4 times in 2 years, he needs to keep his friends that are helping him accelerate in social behavior.

Friends, family show support for Amanda Knox

A fundraiser was held Saturday night at Salty's on Alki for Amanda Knox's legal defense fund. Knox, 21, has been sitting in an Italian prison for over a year awaiting trial for the murder of her roommate, Meredith Kercher in Perugia, Italy which took place in 2007, the day after Halloween.

So far, only Rudy Hermann Guede has been convicted. Knox's boyfriend, Raffaele Sollecito is also accused.

Nearly 120 supporters who believe she is innocent of the murder charges joined Amanda's parents, step parents, sisters and extended family. Most are West Seattle residents.
