Police Blotter: Stabbing in Ballard; robbery at gas station; burglar caught with drugs

10:30 p.m., February 25. 55th block of 11th Ave NW

Police responded to reports of a stabbing in Ballard on the night of February 25. The responding officer spoke with the victim at the Ballard Safeway. The victim was extremely intoxicated. He said that he and three other males had been drinking together in a van. He said that he and the three subjects were all homeless and spent a lot of time together.

The victim said that he and one of the other males got into an argument and the victim grabbed the suspect around the neck and then the suspect pulled a knife on him and tried to stab him. The victim grabbed the knife, suffering cuts on his hands. Another one of the males took the knife from the suspect, but the victim said he feared the suspect would try to kill him, and he ran out of the van to Swedish Hospital in Ballard. He was treated for his injuries and released, and he then went to Safeway and called the police.
