Terry Myers

Beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and friend, Terry Myers, who never said an unkind word about anyone, went to be with Jesus on Monday, December 2, 2019 after a full life of 80 years in West Seattle and a brief illness. 

 

Survived by her husband of 52 years, Phillip, children Jeffrey, Jennifer, and Laurie, daughter-in-law Jenn, sons-in-law Edward and Greg, and grandchildren Calvin Phillip and Connor Quigley, Phoebe Abigail, Ezra James and Claudia Renée, she left behind family and friends of whom she thought the world.

The winter Holidays are upon us! As we head into the Holiday Season, the Seattle Police Department often sees an increase in a variety of criminal activity- including package/mail theft, street robberies, residential burglary and car prowl. Please read the following crime prevention bulletin, addressing each of these four types of crimes.

UPDATE: Investigation underway after man is shot in West Seattle; Suspect video is released

SPD robbery detectives are investigating after a man was shot and wounded Monday afternoon in West Seattle.

Just before 2 pm, the victim—who was delivering an item sold on a secondhand goods website—called 911 and said he’d been shot.

Officers responded to the 9000 block of 18th Avenue Southwest and provided medical aid to the 24-year-old man until Seattle Fire Department medics arrived and transported the man to Harborview Medical Center.

Patrol officers, a K9 unit and King County Sheriff’s deputies searched the area, but were not immediately able to locate the suspect. Robbery detectives continue to investigate.

White Center to see new cleanup effort by King County

King County Executive Dow Constantine is set to announce the new King County Conservation Corps, a pilot program that employs people experiencing homeless and poverty to tackle garbage and litter in unincorporated King County.

Executive Constantine will be joined by White Center community leaders and business owners Dec. 3 to launch the new program at 10am.

Empty Stage Theatre Company Presents PLAID TIDINGS

 A new theatre company in Ballard, EMPTY STAGE THEATRE COMPANY is preparing for their holiday musical offering PLAID TIDINGS.

Empty Stage Theatre Company was created by Ballard High School theatre arts instructor Shawn M. Riley, choreographer and Multi-Arts teacher Eia Waltzer, and Seattle performer Gustavo Gutierrez. The three wanted to give the Ballard community a theatre company to call their own. With big plans for the summer of 2020, including day camps for children ages kindergarten through eighth grade, and the addition of second show, Empty Stage plans on being a fixture in the Ballard community for the foreseeable future.
