Bassetti Architects meets with EHS Design Review Committee

Staff from Bassetti Architects returned to their work on the schematic design of a new Evergreen High School with a capacity for 1,200 students. They met again with members of the Evergreen design review committee on December 2.

Find out what is next in the design process and when the next school bond — to pay for construction — is expected to go before voters.

BACKGROUND INFORMATION

When the plans for new Evergreen, Tyee and Pacific schools were at nearly 50% schematic design in spring 2020, the design review process was put on hold due to the pandemic and the need for a technology levy. The next likely school bond was delayed from November 2020 until November 2022.

Heron's Nest Holiday Market is Saturday Dec. 11

The First Annual Heron's Nest Holiday Market is set for  Saturday December 11th 10am-6pm.
There's a $1 entry fee to support musicians and The Heron's Nest Project.

Nucor comes through again for West Seattle Food Bank

Each year Nucor employees rally together to collect food and funds for the West Seattle Food bank's biggest food drive of the year.

This year they generously donated $20,237 and over 4,300 pounds of food.

The Foodbank extended its thanks for all of the support from Nucor and their staff. Also special thank you to Tacoma Hydraulics for using their trucks to deliver the items.

Pat's View: Flow

Most artists can relate to the idea of flow. 

That focused/creative/borderline spiritual state of mind where judgements are unimportant and the ideas, actions, and creation of a piece of art takes place.

It’s that intentional entry into a means by which a mind becomes an almost physical conduit of  something conceptual from the ether to a form that others can percieve.

This is not to say that training, experience and having an intellectual grasp of core elements of craft are not important. 

In my view, flow is disproportionately more so.
