Last year was the inaugural year of the Ballard Urban Picnic, or BURP, and was a well-attended event despite the slight drizzle.
The Ballard Chamber of Commerce announced the dates for some of the summer's biggest Ballard events.
On July 9 and 10, Ballard will host its 37th Annual Ballard Seafoodfest and a Sidewalk Sale will follow later in the month on July 28 though 31.
The Ballard URban Picnic (BURP) is back this year. Last year, the first-ever BURP was held on a grey and drizzly May 1 but it was a well-attended event regardless. The Ballard Chamber of Commerce created BURP, which featured mobile food vendors, a beer garden, live music, inflatable bouncers, community booths and more, as a way to bring more community activity to Ballard Commons Park. This year, it looks like organizers are banking on better weather as BURP is scheduled for September 10.
