A couple dozen children participated in the first annual Kids Olympics on the morning of August 11.
Organized by the Loyal Heights Community Center, the Kids Olympics is geared towards children ages six and younger and featured soccer kick, running, balloon bounce, relay races, an obstacle course, and even a torch walk.
"It's about promoting health and fitness," said Dana Silva from the community center.
The morning started off with some stretching and a group jog around the field at the Loyal height Community Center.
After the games, the children were invited inside to make their own torch and medal. The morning ended with a healthy snack.
Loyal Heights Community Center is located at 2101 N.W. 77th Street. For more information, visit http://www.seattle.gov/parks/centers/Loyalhtd.htm.
