Senior Alex Bowns competed in the Washington state cross-country championships on Saturday, where he finished in 15th place with a time of 15:41.
The race featured 148 runners and took place at the Sun Willows Golf Course in Pasco. The race was very close, with the 8th place runner finishing just under 10 seconds faster than the 16th place runner.
Bowns’ finish was good enough to qualify for the Border Clash event, which features the top 40 runners from Washington against the top 40 runners from Oregon.
The Border Clash features 17 runners from 4A, with Bowns as the lone Ballard representative. It will take place November 20, and is held at the Nike Campus in Beaverton, OR.
