A man and his family returned home from a convention on the evening of November 14th to find that their home had been broken into. The victim’s daughter’s bedroom window was open, and the back door was unlocked. Nothing was missing, and the interior of the house appeared to be undisturbed. There were no pry marks around the open window, and no fingerprints were found at the scene.
8:00 a.m. on November 14th. 95th block of 21st Ave NW
A house under construction was burglarized between 1:00 p.m. on November 13th and 8:00 a.m. on November 14th. The burglar pried open the front door lock, then stole a construction radio and power cord that were near the front door. There were several power tools in the house that were not taken. There was no information on the suspect at the time of the incident report.
6:14 p.m. on November 11th. 67th block of 12th Ave NW
A woman returned home on the evening of November 11th to find that her home had been burglarized. The suspect used a cinder block to reach a window 7 feet above the ground, then pushed the window hard enough to remove the lock latch screws from the wood. Several drawers in the victim’s bedroom were rifled through, but the only item stolen was a computer router. No fingerprints were found at the scene.
4:31 p.m. on November 10th. 87th block of Greenwood Ave N
On the afternoon of November 10th a grocery store employee observed a woman putting several items into her purse and attempting to leave the store without paying. The employee stopped the burglar and led her back into the store. Approximately $85 worth of items was recovered from the suspect’s purse. Records later determined that the suspect had been caught shoplifting at the same store earlier in the year. The suspect was detained, but she complained of heart problems, so the Seattle Fire Department responded to the scene. The suspect was transported to Virginia Mason Hospital for further treatment.
8:55 a.m. on November 10th. 45th block of Shilshole Ave NW
A storage unit at Shilshole was burglarized between the afternoon of November 9th and the morning of November 10th. The suspect took numerous power tools, all of which were labeled by the owner. The complainant in the case believes that the burglar is a known power tool thief who used to live in a boat at the marina. There is no concrete evidence tying this person of interest to the crime, and the complainant did not know the individual’s whereabouts.
