4:45 a.m. on February 1st. 34th block of Evanston Ave N

Two suspects were arrested for burglarizing a construction site on the morning of February 1st. An alarm company called Seattle Police at 4:45 a.m. to report that their video feed showed two suspects burglarizing an office at the construction site. The responding officer found the two adult male suspects leaving the area and detained them until the alarm company representative made a positive identification.

Officers later determined the description of the suspects’ vehicle. During an area search they found the vehicle with stolen property inside, and the vehicle was impounded. One of the suspects has a history of property crimes. The suspects were later booked in King County Jail on burglary charges.

4:30 a.m. on February 1st. 43rd block of 5th Ave NW

Several people reported hearing 6-8 gunshots during a drive-by shooting in a Ballard neighborhood on the morning of February 1st. When police responded to the scene, one of the callers gave them a description of the suspected vehicle and its driver. The witness said he had seen the same vehicle and driver in the area a few days ago.

The responding officer found multiple bullet holes in a car parked in front of the witness’s address and recovered bullets and shell casings. There was no damage to any residences, and no one was injured in the shooting.

Police determined the address of the man who owned the suspicious vehicle, and they found the car sitting in front of the suspect’s residence with a shell casing visible inside. Another vehicle left the house during the surveillance, and officers stopped it. The driver was a male matching the description of the suspect. He was positively identified by the witness and then booked into King County Jail on charges of drive-by shooting.
