Lina Raymond’s April and May art show will highlight her “2012” collection of acrylic on wood paintings at the Ballard Cupcake Royale.

Raymond said she let herself get lost in gestural abstracts to help cope with toxic political times. Reigning in new freedoms, the artist is enjoying painting for her own enjoyment and even indulging in the “De Kooning” bio.

“It really added fuel to this bent,” said Raymond.
