A man told police that he was attacked and robbed while walking back from lunch on the afternoon of June 6th. The victim said that four or five males jumped out of an old gray Cadillac and punched and kicked him. They stole his backpack and then drove off as the victim ran away.
The victim’s lip was cut and his cheeks were red from the beating. He told police that another vehicle had pulled up and said that they would follow the suspects. The victim said that he had seen the suspects’ vehicle in the parking lot of the old Zesto’s 30 minutes before the robbery. He had also seen one of the suspects walking out of Ballard High School just before that time, and he said he would be able to identify all of the suspects.
The responding officer went into Ballard High to speak with staff and met another victim who had been robbed by the same suspects about 20 minutes before they robbed the first victim the officer had met. This victim, a student, named the suspects and stated that the occupants of two other vehicles, a blue or green Jeep Cherokee and a white Nissan, had been involved as well.
The officer then attempted to speak with the suspects at their homes, but they were away. At about 5:20 that evening one of the suspects arrived at the North Precinct with his parents and the stolen backpack from the first robbery. The suspect was read his rights and arrested.

He said that his garage had been left open and unattended multiple times while he was working.

A woman called police on the night of June 8th after hearing a prowler near her house. The responding officer found that a window had been pried open, but not enough to allow an intruder to enter the residence. There were no other signs of attempted forced entry, and the victim said that she had not seen anyone but only heard the sound of prying. No footprints or fingerprints were found at the scene.

A man called police on the afternoon of June 6th after he was a victim of a strong-arm robbery. The victim said that he was walking home when the suspect ran up behind him and put him in a headlock. The suspect told the victim to give up his possessions and then stole his hat before running away. The suspect was not found in the area.

A man called police after returning home from a workout to find that a burglar had thrown a rock through his front window. The victim entered the house and found that the upstairs bedrooms had been disturbed. The responding officer found two suitcases in the upstairs of the residence that had been opened, and several items had been placed inside. The burglar likely exited the residence through a kitchen window that was found wide open. The victim’s roommate said that none of his possessions had been stolen, although some had been moved into the suitcases. The victim said that two of his backpacks, his laptop computer, and his wallet had been stolen.
The responding officer found several fingerprints on items that had been moved. The victim said that in the last month two different men had come to the house claiming to sell magazines, and he believed that they might be involved in the burglary. Both were black males in their late teens with a build small enough that they would have been able to enter the residence through the broken window.
