3:44 a.m. on June 19th. N 85th St and Greenwood Ave N

A man called police after he thought he saw a man shoot a woman with a taser in a bus shelter. He said the woman, a local transient, was quiet after the incident, and the suspect had run into a nearby apartment building. When officers arrived, the witness told them that the suspect had been shooting the victim with a BB gun. The officers located the victim, but she was hostile and did not want assistance. She said she had seen the taser but hadn’t felt any electricity. The glass on the bus shelter was cracked from the BBs. The responding officers also located two suspicious persons in an alley, but they fled the scene, leaving behind a strong odor of marijuana.

6:07 p.m. on June 17th. 36th block of 3rd Ave NW

Police responded to reports of an assault on the evening of June 17th. The responding officer arrived at the scene to find the victim lying on the ground. Two witnesses pointed out the location of the suspect, who was lying on the bank of the Fremont Canal. The suspect was handcuffed and arrested and later booked into King County Jail.

The witnesses said that they had been drinking by the canal with the victim during the Fremont Solstice Fair. The suspect had been with someone else, causing disturbances. The suspect later offered the witnesses and the victim some wine, and became angry when they drank too much. The suspect approached the victim and punched her repeatedly in the face until he was pulled away. The victim was taken to the hospital.

Other individuals in the area said that the suspect had been aggressive toward them as well, although they did not witness the assault. Everyone at the scene appeared to be heavily intoxicated.

2:41 p.m. on June 17th. 56th block of 22nd Ave NW

A man called police to report that he had been punched in the face and expected further attacks. The victim told the responding officer that he was outside the Ballard Library when the suspect abruptly hit him in the ear and told him to stay out of Ballard. The victim followed the suspect into the bathroom area of the library. The two exchanged words and then got into a wrestling match. The victim said that the suspect slapped and punched him several more times. He said that the suspect also tried to steal his phone.

The victim described the suspect as a white male in his late teens or early twenties about 6 feet tall with short dark brown hair and curly facial hair. The suspect was wearing a gray and black checkered jacket, jeans, and a tan backpack.

3:36 a.m. on June 17th. 54th block of Ballard Ave NW

Police responded to reports of a man under the influence of drugs attempting to attack someone with a metal object on the afternoon of June 17th. The responding officer identified the suspect, with whom he was already familiar, and observed the weapon to be sharpened rebar and scrap metal. The officer ordered the suspect to drop the weapon, but the suspect did not comply and had to be forcibly arrested. Two officers were ultimately able to subdue the suspect, who continued to rant incoherently while he was arrested.

The victim said that he had first approached the suspect because he was concerned for the suspect’s well-being. The suspect then approached him, swinging the weapon, and the victim said that he would call the police. The suspect said that he wanted the police to come. After he was arrested, he was booked into King County Jail.

7:25 p.m. on June 14th. 75th block of 9th Ave NW

A woman called police to report that she believed that her home had been burglarized by one of her son’s friends. The victim told police that the burglary occurred between 7:00 a.m. and 11:30 a.m. on the 14th. The suspect pried open a rear window and stole a Kindle and a video game. The residence was burglarized in a similar manner a month ago. The victim said that the burglar had to be familiar with the house and the family’s dog. She was unable to give concrete evidence that her son’s friend was involved, but she did say that he was out of school between the listed times. The responding officer found fingerprints on the window the burglar used to enter the house.

5:56 p.m. on June 14th. 3rd block of NW 49th St

A man called police to report that his home had been burglarized between 7:00 a.m. and 5:56 p.m. on June 14th. He returned home just before 6:00 p.m. to find his front door unlocked and the screen removed from a nearby window. The suspect stole several items, including a semiautomatic handgun, an electric guitar and amplifier, and a laptop. The responding officer found fingerprints on the window that may have been the point of entry.

11:21 a.m. on June 13th. 53rd block of Tallman Ave NW

Police responded to reports of an assault on healthcare workers on the morning of June 13th. The victims, both health professionals, said that the suspect has been evaluated many times but continues to feign mental illness in order to get hot meals and a place to sleep. They said that they told the suspect that he was being discharged, and he sprang up and attacked them, swinging at one of the victims and bending the arm of the other. The attack was caught on surveillance cameras. Hospital staff restrained the suspect and put him in 4-point restraints. He was arrested and booked into King County Jail.

3:30 p.m. on June 12th. 1st block of NW 80th St

A man called police to report that his nine-year-old son was assaulted by a nine-year-old classmate. The victim’s father said that the classmate approached his son after school and kicked him in the crotch, causing his son to fall to the ground. A teacher witnessed the assault and separated the boys. The suspect was taken to the principal’s office. The victim went to his after-school program, and when it ended, he saw the suspect waiting for him. He informed some teachers, and school security had to escort the suspect off campus.

The victim’s father took his son to Swedish Hospital in Ballard, and he said his son would need a follow-up appointment. He said that the suspect had attacked his son on previous occasions and has also assaulted other students. The victim’s father also said that the suspect had made disturbing threats against his son.
