2:57 p.m., December 27. 100 block of NW 84th St

A man returned to his home on December 27 for the first time since December 18 and found that it had been burglarized. The suspect threw a brick through a back window to gain entry. When the victim and responding officer entered the residence, they found an empty can of Four Loko and a pair of shoes that did not belong to the victim. No one was inside.

The victim said that he had been having problems with a local transient sleeping in his garage and on his porch. He said that the last time he was at the house, he had removed all of the transient’s property from the porch and put it in a nearby alley. He described the transient as a white male, 22 years of age, 5’7” with a thin build.

8:00 a.m., December 27. 800 block of NW 85th St

Police responded to a burglary at a home undergoing renovations to find that the burglar had stolen almost $2000 worth of items. The victims said that their contractor had left the house securely locked at around 8:30 the night before. The electrician arrived at 8:00 a.m. on the 27th to find the front door unlocked. At around 10:00 a.m. workers discovered that the back door had been forced open. The burglar stole a newly installed washer and dryer set as well as two smoke detectors.

3:00 a.m., December 27. 500 block of N 100th St

A man was robbed while heading between bars in the Greenwood area on December 27. The victim said that he had left a bar on Greenwood Ave N and was walking to another when he greeted four men who were walking in the opposite direction. The males began to follow the victim, and one of them put a gun to his head and asked for his car keys. The victim told him that he wasn’t driving and didn’t have his keys, but the suspect reached into his pants pocket and stole his wallet and keys while another suspect tried to tug off the victim’s coat. The victim said that one of the suspects elbowed him in the face and he fell to the ground.

When the victim got up, he saw the suspects heading northeast. He returned home and called police to report the incident. The responding officer observed that the victim was slightly intoxicated and had no visible injuries. The victim said that he would be able to identify the suspects if he saw them again.

8:45 p.m., December 25. 100 block of NW Bowdoin Pl

Police responded to reports of a burglary at an apartment on Christmas. The victims said that they returned to their apartment at around 8:45 p.m. on the 25th to find the front door open but no signs of forced entry. Many pieces of jewelry were stolen, as well as a large quantity of glass beads and about $400 in cash. A lockbox outside of the apartment had also been broken into, and one of the victims said that he believed a key to the apartment had been left in the box and the suspect had used it to enter the apartment. Several items were submitted for fingerprint analysis.
