1:00 a.m., January 21. 14th block of NW 56th St

A grocery store employee called police in the middle of the night on Jan. 21 after he and a coworker were assaulted by intoxicated customers. The victim said that two males and one female were attempting to buy alcohol, but they were obviously intoxicated and the victim and his coworker refused to sell them any. The female suspect became angry and threw a potted plant at the employees, hitting one of them in the head.

The two male suspects left with the female, and the victim followed them into the parking lot. One of the male suspects hit him in the shoulder and he fell to the ground, at which point the other male suspect began kicking him. The victim was able to escape, but he said the suspects threw another plant at him.

All of the suspects are described as white and in their 20s. The female was small, with brown hair, and wearing a black vest. One male had a chubby build and was about 5’8” with curly brown hair. He was wearing a black trench coat. The other male was about 5’10” and 160 lbs and wearing a black hoodie and jeans.

Police did not find the suspects in the area, but the victim said that he would check store surveillance video. One suspect used his debit card to make an earlier purchase and the victim said he would try to get a copy of the receipt.

6:56 p.m., January 17. 8th block of NW 64th St

A man called police to report that his home had been burglarized and he suspected someone connected to his daughter’s ex-boyfriend. The rear door of the house had been pried open, and the burglar stole three laptops from the basement.

The victim said that his daughter and her boyfriend live in the basement. He said that his daughter had recently ended a relationship, and he suspected that one of the ex-boyfriend’s friends had stolen the laptops. He suspected an individual who was supposed to come over to the house that day.
