Becca Ehlers is a stellar Ballard student. She has a 3.97 GPA and graduated from Ballard’s Biotechnology Academy last spring. Becca is a four year lettermen in swim and was captain this year. She is the co-president of the Gay-Straight Alliance and has been in the National Honors Society for three years. Becca is a member of Ballard’s thespians troupe and Key Club. She is heavily involved in the drama department, focusing on set construction but also acting, ushering, and working on costumes. She has worked as a life guard, at a coffee shop, and in a daycare. Becca is a member of Diverse Harmony, the nation’s first LGBT youth chorus. She is applying to Northwestern, New York University, and Harvard, and plans on majoring in creative writing.
Evan Porcincula is an exceptional Ballard student. He serves as the ASB Communications Director and as a DECA President. This is Evan’s third year in DECA, and last year he served as the program developer. Evan was also in FBLA for two years, and was a member of Link Crew last year. Evan was a tennis captain this year and it was his fourth year on the team. He has also played basketball for Ballard. Evan is also a member of Ballard’s Unified soccer and basketball teams. He has a role in this year’s school musical, The Sound of Music, his first time participating in the drama department, and he is thrilled about the show. Evan has volunteered at the Ballard Boys and Girls club, and for Childhood Cancer Careline. Over the summer he had an internship at Mario Madayag Architecture, learning about architecture through computer-based projects. Evan has applied to The University of Washington, San Diego State University, and The University of California Irvine, and while he is undecided about his major, he wants to do something in the field of business marketing and communications.
