Shilshole Bay Marina was just one of the many community groups to host a Night Out event last year. Port of Seattle police even helped grill hamburgers!
As summer is approaching, it's time to think about registering your block for the annual Night Out Against Crime event. If you're new to the event, it's basically an opportunity to get a police-sanctioned street party where you can meet neighbors, promote safety against crimes and have a good time.
Night Out 2013 is Tuesday, August 6, 2013 and SPD's registration link for Night Out Against Crime 2013 is now active. Interested in taking part? Go to: http://www.seattle.gov/police/nightout/default.htm
There are a few things to note, says SPD:
- Once you have registered your event, you will get email verification. You can go back in and edit and/or cancel your event later if you need to.
- The Night Out invitations available on their website are in pdf and are editable and printable from there.
- You can choose to add your event to a map as well. To share your event, go to: http://www.seattle.gov/police/nightout/nightoutevents.htm. It can take approximately 48 hours to populate the map.
