Join in activities to celebrate Neighbor Appreciation Day on February 8
Activities happening at fire stations, community centers, parks and pools across the city
Celebrate Seattle’s 20th annual Neighbor Appreciation Day, a special day to reach out to neighbors and express thanks to all who make each neighborhood a great place. City departments, community groups, and residents across Seattle are hosting work parties, special events, guided walks, and fire station open houses on Saturday, February 8 to celebrate this day.
You can participate in one of the public events below or simply invite your neighbor for coffee. More details can be found at www.seattle.gov/neighborhoods/neighborday/events.htm. All events are FREE unless noted.
Neighbor Appreciation Day Street Clean Up in Queen Anne
All are invited to help clean up the streets and meet your neighbors in lower Queen Anne.
Time: 9:30 – 12 noon
Location: Counterbalance Park at 2 Roy Street.

Neighbor Appreciation Day at Cascade’s People’s Center: Book Exchange
Cascade neighborhood invites all ages to exchange books and conversation. Selected readings of books about the Northwest or written by Northwest authors. Bring 1-3 gently used books to exchange; but if you can’t, Mirabella neighbors are donating a few good reads! Hosted by Cascade Neighborhood Council and the Y @ Cascade People’s Center.

South Park Pancake Breakfast
Come help us celebrate Neighborhood Appreciation Day and eat some pancakes while getting to know

Melrose Ave. Cleanup
Clean up litter with your neighbors at Mercer & Republican Access Steps to Melrose Ave and help plant bushes at Olive Way & Melrose Triangle.

Stairway Walks 2014
Join Feet First for the 2nd Annual Stairway Walks Day. It features 18 unique walks across the Seattle that celebrate the legacy of more than 650 publicly accessible stairways. Register at www.feetfirst.org or stairwaywalks2014.brownpapertickets.com.
Time: 10 a.m. – 12 noon
Locations: Ravenna, Fremont, Maple Leaf, University District, Madrona, Eastlake, Queen Anne, Magnolia, Capitol Hill, West Seattle, Downtown, Mount Baker, Rainier Beach, and Seward Park, plus Burien and Bellevue.
Cost: $5 suggested donation
South Park Neighbor Appreciation Day Work Party
Participate in a work party to help maintain Desimone Public Park, Hamm Creek, and Solid Ground's Giving Garden. Hot tea and snacks provided.
