Thief makes off with $1500 worth of wire
March 17, at the 8300 block of 12th Avenue Northwest officers responded to a burglary at a construction site. Officers made contact with the complainant who told them that he was a contractor and was doing electrical work on the home. When he came to the job-site he noticed $1500 worth of electrical wiring gone. There was no sign of forced entry, but the foreman noticed a back sliding door was open during the day of the burglary. Numerous people had used the door since the incident, and so no fingerprints were recovered.
Kiss and make off
March 16, officers were called to the 9700 block of Holman Road Northwest for a reported commercial burglary. The complainant was cleaning the business after it had been burglarized the weekend before. Business keys were taken in the prior robbery. The complainant’s boss asked her to come by and check on the site to see if any keys were used. She noticed that all the desk drawers had been rifled through and a safe had been pried open. While officers were gathering evidence a witness made contact with them and said that earlier that day there were three suspicious looking young men in a black VW Jetta. She watched them go around the building and emerge with a package. She described the one with the package as a young white male with a lipstick kiss tattoo on the side of his head and other tattoos on his neck. The business owner arrived and could not determine if anything was missing and said that the safe had been emptied prior to the burglary. No fingerprints were recovered.
Pilfering fiend makes off with bottle of hooch
March 15, at the 5400 block of 22nd Avenue Northwest officers responded to a burglary at Vera’s restaurant. The complainant told officers that the suspect had pried open a window on the east side of the building. In doing so the glass was cracked. The complainant said that two long lighters and a bottle of vodka were taken. Officers were able to recover prints to submit for evidence.
Bandits beat and rob young man
March 13, at Northwest 100 Place and 6th Avenue Northwest officers responded to a robbery. Three suspects had robbed the victim and took his backpack and carving knife. Seattle Fire Department was dispatched to the scene to treat the victim’s injuries. The victim told officers that the three suspects met him in the park and out of nowhere they punched and kick him in the face and then robbed him. The victim recognized one of the suspects and told officers that he had gone to school with him the year before. The one he recognized pulled the other two off of him during the scuffle and the victim ran away and called police. The victim sustained lacerations, swelling and scrapes to the face and was taken to Ballard Swedish Hospital for further treatment.
