Thief makes off with fine coin

March 22 – At the 5500 block of 8th Avenue Northwest officers responded to a commercial burglary at a laundromat. The owners reported that when they arrived at the scene they found the front door pried open. The suspect took a set of building keys that were in a hidden location behind the counter. The owner said that one would need to be familiar with the business in order to know where the keys were kept. The suspect used the keys to open a storage room that contained a coin-dispensing machine. A special crank was used to open the vaults of the machine, and the owner stated again that someone would need to be familiar with the crank in order to open the machine. A coin-sorting tray was also emptied. The complainant estimated the suspect too $1800 worth of coins.

Copper cat burglar takes a bundle

March 18 – At the 600 block of Northwest 90th Street officers responded to a burglary at a vacant home. The complainant told officers he did not know the exact time the incident occurred because he had not been to the house in some time. The suspect entered through the back basement door, damaging it in the process. The suspect made off with $2000 of copper piping.

Thief breaks in and takes hot wind and wire

March 17 – Officers responded to a burglary at a residential construction site at the 8000 block of 14th Avenue Northwest. The suspect had gained entry to the home by breaking open the key-lock and using the keys to enter. The suspect tore away the insulation and cut out the electrical wiring. The suspect also stole three 220 amp portable heaters and an air compressor. The complainant told officers that his company had just completed inventory and that he would be able to provide serial numbers for the stolen items.

Back door man takes nothing

March 13 –At the 8000 block of 12th Avenue Northwest officers responded to a reported car prowler and possible burglary to a garage. The complainant told officers that earlier in the day he noticed people walking by and peering into his garage. Then he noticed some items strewn about on the floor near his truck. The complainant saw that his garage door had been opened and some one had rifled through his truck. The came in the back door of the garage and entered the truck through the rear canopy. The suspect broke both windows to get inside the cab. The suspect then used the garage door opener to flee the scene. The complainant could not determine if anything was taken. No prints were recovered from the scene.
