50-year-old woman assaulted on street

On Nov. 17, Seattle Police responded to an assault that happened on the 6400 block of Eighth Avenue Northwest. Officers went to Swedish Hospital in Ballard to speak with the 50-year-old female victim. She told officers that she had been walking and a male suspect approached her and asked her if she had any money. The victim told the suspect she had no money for him and then he demanded all the money she had and punched her in the face. She was knocked down and the suspect continued to punch the woman and left. The victim was transported to the hospital that morning but was released with abrasions to her head and bruising. The victim returned to the emergency room that evening. The police report states that the victim had a strong smell of alcohol permeating from her. Officers asked the nurse if there were any new injuries since the morning and she said there were none. Swedish did a CAT scan on the victim and officers photographed her injuries.

Dog walk leads to laptop taken

On Nov. 14 officers responded to a burglary at a residence on the 6700 block of 24th Avenue Northwest. The victim told officers that earlier that night she left her apartment to walk her dog. She returned to find her front door open and her HP laptop gone. She said that the laptop was a company computer and that she had the serial number. Police submitted the number for evidence.

Rings and watches taken from home, alarm tripped

A woman who lives at the 900 block of Northwest 97th street never thought an outing would lead to her house being burglarized and personal items stolen. On Nov. 14 she left to run errands and while she was gone her alarm company called and told her the alarm had been tripped. She called 911. When she got home she found her door open and things disturbed in her home. A jewelry box was on the floor. She found rings and watches missing. Police believe the suspect gained entry where a screen of a window was cut and the window damaged.

Dog defends home while owners away

A victim has more faith in her dog after it warded off an intruder on Nov. 14. The complainant lives in a home at 300 Northwest 64th Street. When she returned home she noticed that her pit-bull was staring at the back door. The dog seemed anxious. She examined the handle and noticed that one of the screws was on the floor. She called the police. She told officers that she had noticed a man watching her house from across the street the day before. She described that man as black, around six feet tall and wearing a dark jacket. The victim said she had only seen the man once before two weeks ago. Police searched the area but did not find the suspect.
