Laundry thief takes washer and dryer
On March 1, Seattle police were notified of a burglary that occurred at the 5800 block of 14th Avenue Northwest. The complainant told officers that someone entered the home through a kitchen door. No damage to the door was reported. The suspect took a washer and dryer from the home. Police dusted for fingerprints but were unable to recover any.
Beauty bandit breaks in
On March 1st officers responded to burglary at a business at the 5600 block of 24th Avenue Northwest. Employees showed up to open the business and saw that the front doors had been pried open. The suspect stole cash from the register and several boxes of beauty supplies. There was no security footage of the burglary, and no fingerprints were recovered.
Burglar banned by window-stop
On March 1st Seattle police were dispatched to a residences at the 1200 block of Third Avenue Northwest where a burglary was reported. The complainant told officers that she was house sitting for the owner of the home. She had left the house the night before and returned a few hours later. She went to bed. In the morning she noticed a window in a main room had been broken. She did not hear anything during the night, so she thought that the break-in attempt occurred the day before while she was gone. The window had a mechanism on it that prevented it from being opened more than a few inches. No fingerprints were recovered.
Thief bashes bar windows for cash and briefcase
On Feb. 28 officers were dispatched to a Ballard located on the 1400 block of Northwest 70th Street. An employee had reported a burglary that had taken place the night before. The front window to the bar had been shattered with a large rock. Police found the rock at the foot of the bar. The suspect took a few liquor bottles and $100 in cash from the till. An iPad and a leather briefcase valued at $1000 were also taken. The briefcase contained a checkbook and several documents containing passwords and the home address of the bar owner. The suspect fled the scene through the backdoor. No fingerprints were recovered.
