Ax-man aims to keep his onions
Seattle police officers responded to a report of an assault with a deadly weapon at the 1100 block of Northwest 46th Street on March 23. Dispatchers told officers that an unknown male threw an ax at someone’s car. The complainant told officers that he was driving down the street when he saw some food on the side of the road. He thought the food was for the trash. He parked. The man found a bag of onions and walked it over to his car. He went back to the food and grabbed another bag. Out of nowhere, a man emerged from the building in front of the food. The man held an ax. The complainant felt scared and dropped the bag of onions and ran. He heard the sound of an ax hitting a car. After running a while, the man called police. Officers went back to the site with the complainant and located his car. The suspect was nowhere in sight. The ax was gone. They rang the doorbell to the building, but no one inside wanted to speak with officers. The complainant still had a bag of onions in his car and told officers he wanted to return them to the man with the ax. He went home. Officers left the bag of onions at the entryway of the building.
Suspect with handgun: "Gimme what ya got"
Police responded to an attempted robbery at the 200 block of Northwest 87th Street on March 25. Officers made contact with the victim at his home. He told officers that he was walking down the street when a silver 90s model Honda Accord pulled up next to him. There were three black males in the vehicle. The victim described them as being in their mid-20s and around 250 pounds. The driver pointed a handgun at the complainant’s face. He said,“Gimme what ya got.” The victim kicked at the driver’s door. He tried to “defend” himself. Then he ran. The victim said he saw the car speed away eastbound on NW 87th Street. The victim was not injured.
Church storage building bashed, not opened
Seattle police responded to a burglary at United Evangelical Church located on the 1400 block of Northwest 80th Street on March 26. The complainant said that the night before, a suspect tried to break through the door of a storage building on the property. Suspects broke the doorknob off the door. Despite the door being damaged, the suspects were unable to get inside. Nothing was taken from building. Officers were unable to recover latent prints.
