Man finds garage pillaged, tools taken
A homeowner who resides at 1200 block of Sixth Avenue NW called police after finding his garage broken into on April 6. The complainant left that morning to run errands and returned to his home later that afternoon. When he drove up to the house he noticed his garage door was open three feet from the ground. He knew he closed the garage when he left. The complainant went inside the garage and found it in disarray. Tools were taken. He called police. Officers investigated the scene but found no leads or fingerprints. There were no witnesses to the crime.
Thief makes off with man’s work computer
A Ballard man returned to his home on the 6700 block of 17th Avenue NW to find his electronics ransacked on April 2. The complainant reported that after going to work and not returning home until the following day, he found that someone had made off with his work laptop, docking station and mouse. The component has three roommates and said that they were in and out of the house all day. They do not keep the door locked. The complainant gave officers a stack of papers he knew were on the laptop before it was stolen.
Dog scares off pry bar wielding burglar
Seattle police responded to a burglary at the 1200 block of Seventh Avenue NW on April 3. The complainant left her home that morning and was gone most the day. When she returned she found pry marks to her French doors that led outside. The doors had deep marks and other damage to the wood. Despite the damage, it appeared the suspect did not gain access inside. A large dog lives with the complainant, and she believes the hound scared the suspect off. No latent prints were recovered.
