Northwest CrossFit opening fourth community gym April 27
Tue, 04/21/2015
Northwest CrossFit (NWCF), Seattle’s largest CrossFit conglomerate, is set to open its fourth location this month at the Interbay Urban Center with the first day of business slated for April 27th. With gyms in GreenLake, Ballard and Bellevue, NWCF’s newest location represents its most modern, full spectrum workout facility to date.
With a new branding campaign underway, Northwest CrossFit owner Jake Platt is committed to bringing in new clientele by demonstrating the core of his business and the NWCF family. The new tagline “Redefine Your Fitness” promises to offer more than just a gym, NWCF offers a community. Upon entering the new 5,000 square foot gym, visitors are greeted by a floor to ceiling welcome wall with the words “We are NWCF.” The “we” in the new campaign represents that very community, one that comes together to get fit and train hard. In the process, they encounter a new level of support, resilience and camaraderie that Platt feels they cannot obtain in a regular gym.
“People come here curious about CrossFit but are often intimidated,” states Platt, “but what they don’t know is that the community is full of members from all walks of life that have varying capabilities. We can tailor the workouts specific to them. Plus, the level of support they receive from coaches and their fellow gym members is a huge confidence builder.”
Platt explains that NWCF has long utilized a level system that not all CrossFit gyms use to help members identify how much weight to use and how much intensity they should experience. This system helps to ensure that the workouts are always fun, personally developmental and most importantly, safe. NWCF Interbay Urban will take this system a step further with a new joint partnership with Kinetic Sports Rehab.
“Kinetic is helping us to identify weaknesses that members may have, like a bum elbow or weak knee,” says Platt. “Once we know this, we can direct them to a specialized program we have dubbed NWCF CrossLite.”
A variable intensity, functional fitness based circuit training program, CrossLite will replace the typical Workout of the Day [WOD} for some members with an alternatively lighter version. Kinetic will also be on hand to help clients overcome performance plateaus and offer therapy and rehabilitation if they have previous injuries, encounter any “flare ups” or if injuries do occur. Kinetic offices are expected to open in the new gym later this spring shortly after the grand opening.
Northwest CrossFit will celebrate its grand opening with its team, the Kinetic Sports Rehab team, NWCF clients and members of the media on April 25th with the official first day of business occurring April 27th. Special rates and new member sign-ups for the new Interbay Urban Center gym are happening now and throughout the month of May. Interested parties can sign-up on-line at www.northwestcrossfit.com or call 206-777-4141 for more information.
