Thief takes computer, leaves boot print
A Ballard man is missing a Macbook Pro after a burglar broke into his apartment located on the 3200 block of NW 64 Street on May 16. The complainant told officers that he arrived home and discovered his back balcony door was opened. He noticed things in his apartment had been rummaged through and that his Macbook Pro was missing. Police found a muddy boot print near the doorway and believe it to be a size 10 boot. No other leads were recovered.
Fred Meyer employee punched by repeat trespasser
Seattle police arrested a man for assaulting a Fred Meyer employee at the store located on the 900 block of NW 45th Street on May 16. The complainant told police that he was working and out of nowhere someone struck him on the arm. The blow was painful but did not cause injury. The complainant saw the suspect flee the scene; he rode his bike through the store. The victim and other staff recognized the suspect as someone they had removed from the store for trespassing earlier in the month. Police apprehended the suspect and took him back to the store for a show-up. The suspect told police that he was indeed in the store but that he had not assaulted anyone. He told police that a woman asked him to hold on to bag for her and to meet her outside. He took the bag and rode it out of the store and gave it to her. We said he made no contact with Fred Meyer staff. The victim recognized the suspect and told police he wanted to press charges. Police booked the man in King County Jail for assault.
Passport and camping gear gone
A man is missing his passport and camping gear after someone broke into a storage locker of an apartment located on the 3000 block of NW Market Street on May 9. The complainant told officers that he came home to find his locker busted open. The burglar took a duffle bag that had over $1000 of camping gear and his passport inside. No security footage recorded the suspect taking the bag. Police have no leads.
