Attempted robbery ends with shooting, three people injured
Three people were injured after a man tried to steal a necklace from woman and fired three shots from a pistol on August 8. The incident occurred around 12:15 a.m. on the street near NW Market Street and Ballard Avenue NW. According to Seattle Police a female victim was walking down the street when the suspect approached her. A bouncer from the BalMar intervened, and the victim was able to get away from the suspect. The suspect then fired three shots into the street. The bullets fragmented and ricocheted, striking three bystanders. The victims went to Ballard Swedish for treatment. Police combed the neighborhoods, but were unable to locate the suspect. The man was described as black and in his 20s.
Man assaults QFC employee with orange
Police are looking for a suspect who assaulted a man with an orange at the Ballard QFC on July 30. The victim, a store employee, told police that he was walking into the produce section of the store when the suspect politely asked him how he was doing. “How are you doing, sir,” the suspect said innocently. The victim thought nothing of it and walked closer to the suspect but noticed a co-worker suddenly turn his head to the suspect. The suspect had a large orange in his hand. The suspect said, “Think fast, sir,” and threw the orange at the victim. The orange blasted the victim in the front shoulder. The victim was uninjured but very annoyed. Before the two employees had time to respond the suspect fled the scene. The victim wanted to report the incident to police incase the perpetrator causes more problems at the store.
Power tools taken from garage, truck rifled through
A man is missing power tools after someone broke into his detached garage located on the 105th Second Avenue NW on August 2. The complainant told police that that evening he went out to the back yard to play with his dog and noticed the door to his garage was opened. He went inside and noticed two drills and a chainsaw were missing. He also noticed his Toyota truck had been rifled through. He could not determine if anything else was taken, but he has surveillance cameras around his home and said he would be checking them. Police did not recover any fingerprints.
Jeep Compass bicycle stolen from secure garage
A man is looking for his bicycle after it was stolen from a secure parking garage at his apartment complex located on the 8000 block of 15th Avenue NW. On August 2 he noticed that his green and blue Jeep Compass bicycle was gone. He had is locked on a bicycle rack and it appeared the lock was cut. The complainant believes the manager will be able to provide security footage of the incident. He told police that the secure garage is not actually “secure” and that thieves climb the fence and steal residents’ property. The complainant was unable to provide a serial number for the bicycle.
