Shoplifters make get-away with goods, assault employee with bear spray
Police are on the lookout after two suspects robbed a store located on the 900 block of NW 45th Street and assaulted employees with bear spray. On August 14 police were dispatched to the store after a report of a robbery and assault. Store employees told officers that a Hispanic male and female ran by the self-checkout line with a cart full of goods. While they ran out, the male sprayed the employee at the checkout line with bear spray. They ran out of the store with the goods and fled the scene. Police found a small can of mace and a large can of bear spray outside the store. Seattle Fire Department treated the victim at the scene. The store manager was unable to determine what was stolen from the store but could provide video footage of the robbery. In addition, witnesses said that they saw at least one lone male wearing camouflage leave the store with an arm full of goods. Another witness reported seeing a white couple quickly leave the store clutching a vacuum cleaner. Police believe the other three shoplifters were not affiliated with the Hispanic couple and were merely taking advantage of the commotion.
Burglar ransacks business for ten-dollar bill
A business owner is baffled after a burglar broke into her business at the 7700 block of 24th Avenue NW only to ransack the place and take a ten-dollar bill. On August 11 police were dispatched to the business after a report of a burglary. The complainant told police that she arrived to her business and immediately noticed the place had been rifled through. She found the bathroom window in the back had been broken open. Her business was a mess but the only thing taken was a ten-dollar bill. The place was cleaned up before police arrived, and they were unable to recover any fingerprints.
Lord Of The Rings’ box set ripped off
A Ballard resident has lost a mac book pro and a “Lord Of The Rings” box set after a burglary occurred at his home located on the 5600 block of Ninth Avenue NW. On August 13 police were dispatched to the residence where the complainant told them that he arrived home and found his front door open and damaged. The complaint said that his apartment was a mess and that the DVD box set and computer were missing. Police believe the suspect kicked the door in to gain entry. The estimated valued of the items is $1,200. No fingerprints were found at the scene.
