Burglar pushes through AC unit to get in business

Police are on the lookout for a suspect who pushed through an air-conditioning unit in order to gain access to a business located on the 100 block of NW 85th Street on August 18. Officers were called to the scene after the business owner found his office in disarray and an AC unit on the floor. The complainant told officers that he left an exterior door unlocked, and the suspect managed to get into a hallway where he had access to a window. The suspect pushed the AC unit through the window and then slipped inside. The suspect made three trips from the office to a car parked in the alley outside. The business owners were able to supply officers with video surveillance of the incident. No fingerprints were recovered from the scene.

Man assaulted by angry pedestrian

Police are looking for a man who assaulted a motorist after being honked at for crossing the street at 15th Avenue NW and NW 87th Street on August 22. Police were dispatched to the motorist’s house after he called in the assault. When police arrive they found the man holding a bloody rag to his face. The man declined medical treatment and said that his nose was broken and that there was nothing anyone could do for him. Police asked him what happened. He said that he was driving northbound on 15th Avenue NW and abruptly stopped for a pedestrian who was illegally crossing the street. The motorist honked at the pedestrian and the pedestrian addressed him with his middle finger. The motorist drove on and stopped at an ATM to do some business. As he was withdrawing some cash the pedestrian showed up. The suspect punched the victim numerous times in the face. The victim said he didn’t defend himself because he said the last time that happened to him he had to pay $5000 in attorney fees. He said that there were two other people at the ATM who stood there and watched as the suspect pummeled him again and again. After the suspect was through, he just walked away. The victim said the suspect didn’t say anything to him during the incident. A woman pulled over after seeing the assault and asked the man if he wanted medical attention. He said he declined and just drove home and then decided to call police .
