John Doe assaults nurses at Swedish Hospital
Police arrested a man after he assaulted nurses and hospital staff at Swedish Hospital on Oct. 3. According to police the man was brought to the hospital after Seattle Fire Department found him naked and unresponsive in the street. The man had a blood-alcohol level of .29. He was in and out of consciousness and did not respond to pain stimulation. At the hospital the staff asked the man if they could use a catheter to collect a urine sample. They believed the suspect was under the influence of other substances. He told them they could proceed, but when they did he “revived” and punched the nurses. They ran out of the room and locked the man inside. He tore the room apart; he threw the computer to the ground and all the medical instruments. Three hospital security officers came to aid the nurses. They went inside the room and the man tried to punch them. They wrestled him to the ground and handcuffed him. When police arrived the security staff were still holding the 230-pound man to the ground. The man was clothed in only a hospital gown. Police asked the man’s name and the suspect said “ you!” As police transported the suspect to a patrol car outside the man continued to yell obscenities in the hospital lobby. Once in the car the suspect kicked the doors as police drove him to King County Jail. Police were unable to recover the man’s name, and he was booked for assault under the name John Doe. Nurses and hospital staff were looked over for miner bumps and bruises.
Grade level stolen from construction site
A construction company is looking for their $3,000 grade leveler after it was stolen from a site at 1400 block N.W. 54th St. on Sept. 29. The construction manager noticed that the grade lever was gone after he went to use it and noticed it wasn’t in a makeshift shed where it was being stored. There was no damage to the door of the shed, and there was nothing else missing. The manager believed he would be able to recover a serial number for the leveler.
