Police catch burglar in the act at Magnolia apartment
Police arrested a burglar after he broke into a couple’s apartment building on the 3000 block of 21st Ave. W. on Oct. 22. Around 1 a.m. the couple heard someone walking around in their apartment. They quickly barricaded themselves in their bedroom and called police. When Police arrived they immediately saw a man with a flashlight wandering around inside the apartment. Police called to the man, and he ran toward the couple’s room. Officers were concerned for the safety of couple and kicked the door in and arrested the suspect. Police searched the suspect and found the couple’s keys, cash and a knife. They also noticed a window was broken and believed the suspect entered there. Officers transported the man to King County Jail, but then later to Harborview Medical Center for treatment of an unrelated issue.
Homeowner foils burglar’s plans, scores sandwich
A burglar is missing a deli sandwich after he was caught in the act by a homeowner who lives on the 800 block of Mary Ave. On Oct. 12 the complainant was shopping at a super market near his home where he made eye contact with the suspect. When the complainant came home he found the suspect standing inside his living room. The suspect was holding a laptop, Play Station and an old cellphone. When the suspect saw the homeowner he said, “I’m sorry,” and put the things down as he quickly walked out of the house. The complainant followed the suspect for a while and last saw him at N.W. 80th St. and Mary Ave. N.W. The complainant went back home and called police. He noticed that all entry points to his home were undisturbed, but he thought he had locked the door. He also noticed the suspect left a bag containing a deli sandwich purchased from the same supermarket where was shopping. Police searched the area but did not find the suspect.
Thieves try to cut their way into apartment complex
Security officers chased off three bicycle fiends who tried to break into a bicycle storage area in an apartment located on the 2200 block of N.W. 58th St. Security personnel observed the suspects on security cameras as they tried to cut through a fence to get to the bicycles. The two security guards chased after the young suspects. Police were able to view the security footage and searched the area but did find the hooligans.
