Restaurant burglarized twice in one month
A restaurant owner in Ballard is frustrated after someone broke into his restaurant on the 8300 block of 15th Ave. N.W. on Oct. 28. He reported that someone slipped through a front window and rifled through the drawers and counters of the premises. This was the second break-in this month. The owner could not determine if anything was taken, but the suspect left the place disturbed. Police did not recover any prints because the restaurant owner cleaned the restaurant in order to open for business.
Woman finds car broken into after church
A Ballard woman has a damaged vehicle after a burglar broke into her car located in a secure parking garage on the 2200 block of N.W. 58th St. On Oct. 25 the complainant reported that someone had broken the lock on her driver’s side door in order to gain access to her car. She found this out after returning from church. She believes the damage to her vehicle will cost $500. However, she didn’t believe there was anything stolen. Security personnel reported that all entry points to the garage were undisturbed. Security personnel could not provide SPD with security footage of the incident.
Bike thief defeats U-Lock, takes $1,000 bike
A Ballard man is missing a his Trek bicycle after a burglary occurred in a secure parking lot in an apartment complex located on the 5600 block of 24th Ave. N.W. On Oct. 24 police responded to a report saying the bicycle was stolen. The complainant reported that the night before someone must have slipped passed the garage gate while a car was entering in order to gain access to the secure garage because security personnel reported that no entry points were disturbed. Once inside, the suspect “defeated” the U-Lock that attached the bike to a bicycle rack. There were no fingerprints or security footage collected from the scene.
