Inebriated man beaten, robbed near 7-Eleven
Seattle Police responded to reports of a man beaten and mugged near the 7-Eleven located on the 1700 block of N.W. Markets Street on August 18. When they arrived they found the victim swaying back and forth. Officers reported a scent of alcohol emanating from the man. He told police that he believed four men beat him in the head with a baseball bat and stole his backpack, wallet and keys. Officers observed blood coming form the side of his head and advised the man to seek medical attention. He denied going to the hospital but agreed to have Seattle Fire Department medics check him. The 7-Eleven store attendant told police he had not seen nor heard a disturbance that evening.
Family returns from camping to find mom’s jewelry box stolen
Police were called to a North Crown Hill home located on the 103rd block of Ninth Avenue N.W after the residents found it burglarized on August 17.The family had been gone for a weekend camping trip. When police arrived they found the back doors had been tampered with, but were unopened because of security blocks on the sliding doors. The family first noticed something askew after seeing the light they usually leave on was off. A jewelry box containing 50 pieces of jewelry was stolen. The owners could not give an estimate of how much it was worth but gave a description to police. Four latent prints were pulled from the back door of the scene.
