Both the Ballard and Chief Sealth boys basketball teams opened holiday tournaments with victories Thursday.

Sealth opened a tournament at Bellevue College by posting a 63-56 victory over Inglemoor and the Beavers won by a 40-34 score over Ferndale in a tournament at Mountlake Terrace.

In other action Thursday, the Highline boys fell to Franklin Pierce by a 57-45 score but the Mount Rainier boys defeated Lynnwood, 63-54.

The Mount Rainier girls lost to Lynnwood, 67-39, after taking a 47-31 loss to Decatur the day before.
