Sunday night around 9:00 PM a large evergreen tree was spotted crashed down on the playground equipment at Loyal Heights Community Center in north Ballard according to reader David Ortman. It is located at 2101 North 77th Street.
The tree, thankfully, did not fall on the sidewalk or street, or on anyone who may have been on the equipment.
Ortman reports today "Looks like the equipment survived. Maybe a dent in the top roof structure cover."
The play area renovation will update play equipment with play structures accessible to children of all abilities, ages 2-5 and 5-12. Additionally, the project will enhance safety and improve play area accessibility in compliance with the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA).
