Stabbing victim admitted to hospital
At 2:55 p.m. on Sunday, March 25, an assault occurred at Ballard Swedish Hospital, located in the 5300 block of Tallman Ave NW. When officers arrived the victim was in the midst of treatment in the emergency room. The victim had a wound from being stabbed, on the right side of his abdomen, near his liver. He also had bruising on the left of his pelvis. Doctors said the injuries were not life-threatening. Doctors also said that the victim was combative and verbally abusive to hospital staff upon arrival. Then, he was given a sedative. The victim fell asleep before officers could question him. Officers learned that a white motorhome dropped the victim off at the hospital.
Storage room burglarized
Officers were dispatched to the 6500 block of Seaview Ave NW around 4:55 p.m. on Monday, March 26. Security staff reported a forced entry into an apartment building’s storage unit at 7:30 p.m. the night before. They notified tenants but were unsure about what was taken. The victim believes the suspect may have been a man who applied for a job as a security guard for the building. Officers found a number of broken locks and hinges in the building. The victims were not able to provide stolen property information.
Bikes stolen from garage
At 8:58 a.m. on Sunday, March 25, officers received a call about a burglary. The victim lives in a duplex with his wife in the 1700 block of NW 63 St. He left the house for work around 6 a.m. When his wife went outside a couple hours later, she found the garage door open and bicycles missing from the garage. One of the bicycles was rare. The victims did not have serial numbers for the bikes.
Burglar takes chips and cookies, along with money
A fast food restaurant, located in the 8700 block of Holman Rd. NW, was burglarized. An employee called police around 1:20 a.m. on Sunday, March 25 to report the crime. He said that after arriving in the business, he saw coins on the floor, paper and the till from the register. He showed officers security footage of the crime. A man entered wearing a green coat, gray hoodie, dark pants and gloves. The suspect stole money from the tip jar and the register, and took a tray of cookies and multiple bags of chips. The suspect tried to use a screwdriver to break open the safe but was unsuccessful. Since the burglar wore gloves, officers were unable to find fingerprints.
