High schools
Boys basketball
Playoff games will be coming thick and fast as the snowy weather lets up in the middle of this week.
The Mount Rainier boys continue Class 4A West Central District action Wednesday with a trip to Mount Tahoma to play Kentridge at 7:45 p.m. and Kennedy Catholic goes to Auburn Mountainview to play South Kitsap at the same time.
West Seattle enters Sea-King District play with a 7 p.m. visit to Roosevelt on Wednesday as well.
Foster returns to Class 2A West Central District action at 6 p.m. Thursday at Bonney Lake High School against an opponent to be determined.
Tournaments continue later in the week based on results.
Girls basketball
The Kennedy Catholic girls travel to Auburn Mountainview to play Olympia at 6 p.m. Wednesday as West Central District 4A action resumes.
In the Class 3A Sea-King District tournament, Ballard is at home playing Bainbridge at 7 p.m. Wednesday and at the same time Foster hosts Renton for a 2A West Central District game.
West Seattle waits until Thursday to play a 4 p.m. Sea-King game at Chief Sealth against an opponent to be determined.
Wrestling
State tournament action is scheduled for Friday and Saturday at the Tacoma Dome, featuring 32 athletes per weight class for both boys and girls since Saturday’s regionals to lower the field further were snowed out across the state.
Session 1 runs from 10 a.m. until 2 p.m. Friday with Session 2 going from 3:30-7:30 p.m. that day and Session 3 from 9:45 a.m. until 2:45 p.m. Saturday.
Finals start at 4:40 with a ceremony followed by the action starting at 5 p.m.
Boys swimming
The King County Aquatic Center in Federal Way is scheduled to host state swimming and diving action this Friday and Saturday.
Preliminaries start with the 2A at 9:45 a.m., followed by the 3A at 2 p.m. and the 4A at 6:30 p.m.
The 2A finals begin at 9:15 a.m. Saturday with the 3A finals at 2:10 p.m. and the 4A at 7 p.m.
Gymnastics
West Central District action for Class 2A and 4A is scheduled to take place at Kent-Meridian High School on Saturday with the Sea-King Class 3A meet hosted by Ballard.

Thunderbirds
Seattle hosts Red Deer for a 7:35 p.m. Western Hockey League match at the Showare Center in Kent this Friday before the Everett Silvertips drop by at 6:05 p.m. Saturday.
The Thunderbirds visit Portland for 4 p.m. Sunday action.
Stars
Tacoma will be at home at the Showare Center in Kent playing the San Diego Sockers at 5:05 p.m. Sunday.
Seawolves
Seattle’s Major League Rugby team hosts the Toronto Arrows for a 5 p.m. Sunday match at the Starfire complex in Tukwila.
The action can be seen live on the ROOT Sports cable television network.
Mariners
Spring training workouts continue in Peoria, Ariz. leading up to the Mariners’ exhibition opener against the Oakland A’s on Thursday, Feb. 21.
Colleges
Husky vs. Cougar men
The University of Washington men’s basketball team pays a 5 p.m. visit to Washington State University in Pullman this Saturday with ESPNU televising the action.
Husky vs. Cougar women
Washington’s women are also going to Pullman to play Washington State University, only at 7 p.m. Friday on the Pac-12 cable television network.
Redhawk men
Seattle University visits UTRGV for a 5 p.m. game Thursday before dropping in on New Mexico State at 6 p.m. Saturday.
Redhawk women
Seattle University’s women are at home against UTRGV for 6 p.m. action Thursday before hosting New Mexico State at 2 p.m. Saturday.
Falcon men
Seattle Pacific University plays host to Western Oregon at 7 p.m. Thursday at the Royal Brougham Pavilion and entertains Concordia of Oregon at 4 p.m. Saturday.
Falcon women
Seattle Pacific goes to Simon Fraser in British Columbia for a 7 p.m. game Thursday before visiting Western Washington University at 7 p.m. Saturday.
Bulldog men
Gonzaga University is at Loyola Marymount for an 8 p.m. game that can be seen on ESPN2 on Thursday before going to San Diego for a 7 p.m. Saturday game on ESPN.
Bulldog women
The Lady Bulldogs host San Diego for a 6 p.m. Thursday game in Spokane ahead of a 2 p.m. home game against BYU on Saturday.
